Description
This 3-part series explores the Chakras through meditation, mantra, movement, art and other creative activities.
The chakras, literally "wheels", are energy centers along the spine held to be potent places of contemplation and focus by many traditions. Each chakra is associated with an element, sound, part of the body, and personality characteristics which we will explore in a multi-disciplinary class.
Each class includes meditation, movement/yoga asana, mantra and sound, as well as time for connecting as a pop-up community.
The formal class will run from 6-7:30, with the last half hour designated for community building, sharing snacks, drumming, movement, and art making. This class is appropriate for all ages. Children are welcome if they are interested in the topic and want to participate, or are babes in arms.
(When we have an imbalance in the body/mind, it could be said that our energy is not flowing freely and openly through these centers. We will explore each chakra in depth in a playful yet educational environment.)
** This series is appropriate for individuals new to the exploration of the chakras or can serve as a pathway to deeping ones understanding.
