Exploring R&F Pigment Sticks® and Drawing Oils™

This R&F Pigment Stick® and Drawing Oils™ demo will show how these product lines enable traditional and alternative methods of painting with oil by allowing artists to draw or paint directly onto a surface with immediacy and fluidity. Tracy will cover what Pigment Sticks and Drawing Oils are compatible with, health and safety, and appropriate supports and tools. As part of the demo, she will also discuss transparency and opacity; working with R&F Blending Medium and Blending Medium with Drier; building a surface; monoprinting; image transfer; and mark making. Additional techniques and compatible products will be highlighted, such as the use of cold wax, Gelli plates, and trace monotypes. The demo will highlight the similarities and differences between these two product lines, as well as the benefits of each.
