Workshop Summary: Exploring Mentorship and Career Development for International Students

Join the Alumni Relations and Constituent Engagement’s Lifelong Learning and Career Programs team for an engaging workshop designed specifically for international students interested in building professional connections and career skills. This session will provide an overview of the University-wide online platform, The Meliora Collective, introduce the Mentorship Program, and share important spring program dates.

This session will equip students with the insights and tools needed to make the most of mentorship opportunities and strengthen their career development journey. Students will learn what to expect from the mentorship experience—including the commitment, practices for engaging with alumni mentors in impactful and respectful ways, and how the matching process works to meet the students’ needs. There will be discussion on how to approach mentorship with an open and flexible mindset and how to explore diverse perspectives rather than focusing too narrowly on one path to help set clear and realistic expectations.

This event is open to all members of the University of Rochester community.
