Exploring Coffee Extraction & Taste
Overview
Exploring Coffee Extraction & Taste is a hands-on sensory and technical deep dive into what makes coffee taste balanced, sweet, and complete - or sour, bitter, and hollow
This workshop uses guided tasting and practical demonstrations to explore how extraction shapes flavor, balance, and clarity in coffee. We’ll break down how extraction actually works, how to recognize it by taste, and how barista-controlled levers like grind, dose, ratio, and tamp affect the cup. While espresso is the primary focus, the concepts apply across brew methods, giving you tools to better understand, diagnose, and improve any cup you make.
