Event description

Description

Tennessee Clean Fuels is partnering with the Renewable Energy Group -- the nation's largest biodiesel producer -- to host two "Exploring Biodiesel in 2019" workshops this year. One is planned for Nashville later this year, but the first will take place in Knoxville on June 18, 2019.

Biodiesel is the most advanced and easiest to use alternative fuel on the market today, blending with diesel easily in common blends like B10 and B20 (10-20% biodiesel blended with 90-80% diesel). With that simplicity at a B20 blend comes a 15% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions per gallon of B20 use.

The workshop will review biodiesel's resources, production, and distribution in the United States, highlight a handful of fleets in Tennessee that use biodiesel blends all the way up to B100, and discuss how a fleet starts using biodiesel blends. Petroleum jobbers and distributors are invited as well as fleet managers, city officials, and the general public.
