Being ready for a crisis is about planning and preparation, but it’s not just having a crisis communications plan in hand. In this webinar, our experts Kelly Bantle, Allegiant Strategies NW, and Kelsey Young, OHSU, will equip you with strategies for engaging your organization or clients on building resilience to crisis and proactively positioning themselves to successfully navigate crisis when it strikes. They’ll dive into the critical role communicators play in risk assessment and mitigation and how to get your organization ready to effectively respond to crisis when it strikes.

A majority of the webinar will be dedicated to conducting an interactive exercise with participants on laying out the critical groundwork essential for crisis communications planning and implementation.

ABOUT OUR EXPERTS

Kelly Bantle, Principal, Allegiant Strategies Northwest

As a 25-year practitioner, Kelly Bantle is well-versed in public relations, brand and reputation management, marketing, and crisis communications. Throughout her career, she’s consulted on and managed a broad range of issues and crises. She works today as an independent contractor, serving clients in the Pacific Northwest. Additionally, Kelly has taught since 2021 an intensive online crisis communications and image management course for Portland State University. She holds an M.S. in mass communications and a B.S. in journalism and broadcasting with a public relations option from Oklahoma State University.

Kelsey Young, Director, Internal Communications, OHSU

Kelsey’s nearly 20-year employee communications career spans both health care and veterinary care. She has led, managed and enhanced organizational internal communications strategy, collaborating with executives and leaders to support large-scale change management and institutional initiatives. Kelsey also is well-versed in crisis communications, events planning and workplace culture. She has an M.B.A. and B.A. in Journalism: Public Relations from University of Oregon.
