Experimental Session #7 – Golsana Chelo

RADAЯ: Experimental Session #7 features Golsana Chelo, a classically trained cellist, experimental sound artist, and co-founder of Duos Duet.

Her performance "Memory is a Place, Memory is a Time" is a live electroacoustic journey into sound, memory, and urban space. Golsana combines cello, recorder flute, field recordings, electronics, and spoken word to explore how sonic traces evoke emotional and spatial memories.

🌀 The performance unfolds as a series of layered sonic fragments drawn from different cities. These urban environments become living archives—each sound, each pause a portal into presence and absence, the past and the now. Live looping and digital processing interlace with acoustic textures, composing a dialogue that is at once poetic and immersive.

Golsana’s background includes over a decade of experience with orchestras and contemporary ensembles such as the Tehran Philharmonic Orchestra and Austro-Iranian Symphony. Her current work bridges classical training with experimental forms of sound-based storytelling.
