A Collaborative and Experimental Poster Design Workshop With Hey Porter!

During this workshop, we will explore the process of having no process, by merging many digital techniques to generate experimental typographic pieces that can become your own font or typeface one day.

Hey Porter! is a multi-functional-visual-individual. Based in Amman, Jordan, combining his technological background as a self-taught designer with the fact that he holds a bachelor’s degree in visual arts plus that he’s just another empty head in a meaningless timeline; he started a daily poster design routine back in 2017 to explore the possibilities and experimental aspects of graphic-design and Arabic typography every night for three years, he became an indie digital type foundry/self-employed designer later on.

This workshop is part of TypeLab activities.

TypeLab is a typography-focused alternative learning and experimentation platform at Sandberg Instituut.

TypeLab aims to create an open, accessible, and inclusive space for knowledge and skill-sharing between Sandberg Instituut/Gerrit Rietveld students and the outside world in the shape of workshops, discussions, and consultations.

Believing in the necessity for inclusive learning and open knowledge, all events and activities will be archived and documented on online platforms, in order to open-source education to all Type fanatics inside and outside the school.

TypeLab is managed by Mohamed Gaber and Farah Fayyad as part of PUB, a trans-departmental initiative founded and run by Sandberg students with the hopes of establishing collaborative publishing practices at the university.
