Expats Anonymous "Working Remote" Edition

By Francesco Carnovale

Overview

Expats Anonymous is a stand-up comedy show that gathers foreigners and locals who chose Portugal as home so they can laugh in catharsis.

EXPATS ANONYMOUS – “Working Remote” Edition

So you moved abroad for flexibility and quality of life, and got yourself a remote job — only to realize that instead of smelling someone else’s salmon being reheated in the office microwave, you’re now just marinating in your own body odour after three days indoors. Turns out “work from anywhere” still means... work, and that “quality of life” thing costs actual money.

You thought working from the beach would be paradise, but somehow the Wi-Fi is weak, your motivation’s weaker, and you’ve been avoiding that one email for a week straight. Maybe talking to humans in person isn’t so bad after all? (Nah, probably still is.)

At this edition of Expats Anonymous, our comedians will unpack their remote realities — from fake productivity to digital nomad delusions. And yes, we’ll be reading your stories too, so we can all laugh through the pain together.
