Whether you’re returning to creativity after a break, building your art practice, or simply seeking new perspectives, this small-group coaching series offers tools and conversations that help you thrive, both in your craft and your daily life. Each session includes guided exercises and time for connection with other makers.

This session is about perspective and how you interpret your creative growth. We’ll introduce distinctions between facts and opinions (assertions vs. assessments). You’ll begin to notice how you talk about your process and how small mindset shifts can open more ease and momentum.

Objectives:

• Learn to distinguish between facts (assertions) and stories (assessments) in our artistic self-talk
• Identify unhelpful patterns in how we pursue our craft
• Create empowering assessments about our process and growth

You’ll leave with:

• A personal practice plan that feels sustainable
• Greater self-awareness of judgments that block creativity
• Tools for building trust in your own development

Jess Lau is a lifelong tinkerer and creative explorer whose current art practice spans oil painting, illustration, and sashiko embroidery, with a colorful history in standup comedy, circus arts, and more. Drawn to the beauty in everyday stories and overlooked details, her work celebrates the quiet magic of noticing. With 18 years of experience as an engineer, leader, and coach, Jessica bridges the worlds of analytical problem-solving and artistic expression. She guides others in discovering the joy of creating and thriving in both their craft and their lives.
