Individual Competition for University of Tennessee Students

The Excel on Rocky Top Individual Student Competition is a Microsoft Excel-based eSports competition open to any current HCB student. In the first round, competitors will have 30 minutes to work through an Excel case involving logic, text manipulation, and data analysis. Competitors earning the top eight scores will advance to a live final event later that same afternoon. The final will be hosted by the Hodges Library eSports arena and streamed via YouTube.

The top three finishers will receive cash prizes. The first-place winner will also earn the opportunity to compete the following day in an eight-person international event sponsored by Microsoft Excel Collegiate Challenge. The afternoon will also be filled with guest speakers, games, and other prizes.

Training
While your Excel-based courses lay the groundwork for success, serious competitors should consider training. The Microsoft Excel College Challenge offers great resources to learn and practice. In addition, MECC offers monthly challenges year-round in which you can compete against students from around the world. After you register for Excel on Rocky Top, you’ll receive access to the various resources MECC provides.
