Do you want to learn how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can help make up the difference? Do you want to solve real-world law enforcement problems using Excel functions and features? Do you want to earn continuing education credit while enhancing your data skills?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this two-day online course is for you. This course is designed for police officers, detectives, analysts, and other criminal justice professionals in any role who want to master Excel and use it to fight crime.
In this course, you will learn how to:
- Accelerate Investigations with Powerful Data Visualization: Learn to build dynamic timelines and stunning geospatial maps in Google Earth Pro, transforming raw data into clear visual narratives that expose critical movements and relationships within your cases.
- Uncover Hidden Connections & Critical Intelligence: Gain the expertise to seamlessly integrate data from disparate sources using advanced lookup functions and master techniques to parse complex records like phone data, revealing associations and patterns previously invisible.
- Boost Daily Productivity & Operational Efficiency: Equip your team with essential Excel shortcuts, formulas, and data structuring techniques that dramatically cut down analysis time, allowing your officers and analysts to work smarter, not harder.
- Leverage Time-Sensitive Data for Strategic Advantage: Master date and time functions to accurately analyze call records, track events chronologically, and deploy conditional formatting to instantly flag cases nearing crucial deadlines or statute of limitations.
- Transform Raw Information into Actionable Insights: Discover how to effectively clean, organize, and analyze any type of law enforcement data, enabling your personnel to quickly extract vital intelligence and support strategic decision-making in real-time.
You will also get to practice your skills with hands-on exercises and scenarios based on real cases. You will be guided by James Ward, an experienced intelligence analyst who has used Excel to solve various data analysis problems and follow money trails for over 23 years. His analysis has convinced a district attorney to accept murder charges based on cell phone and geospatial analysis. He has analyzed bank and phone records related to terrorism investigations, and he's helped numerous investigators solve other data analysis problems related to murderers, serial rapists, money launderers, and human traffickers.
