Rotherham VCSE Event Series: Unlocking Social Value in Public Sector Procurement
Join us for a four-part online series designed to help Rotherham VCSE organisations understand, navigate, and maximise opportunities in public sector procurement and grant funding. Whether you're new to social value or looking to strengthen your bidding approach, you're welcome to attend one, some, or all of the sessions.
Delivered in partnership by Voluntary Action Rotherham (VAR), Go4Growth, and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMBC), each session offers practical insights tailored to the needs of the VCSE sector.
Event 1: An Introduction to Social Value
Start your journey with a clear understanding of what social value means in the context of public sector contracts. This session will explore why it matters, how it’s measured, and what it means for VCSE organisations looking to work with local authorities.

Event 4: Social Value – Improving the Corporate Ask
In the final session of the series, we’ll explore how VCSE organisations can help shape and strengthen the social value “ask” in public sector contracts. This includes understanding how to collaborate effectively across sectors, speak a shared language with corporate and public partners, and navigate boundaries that can sometimes limit impact. The session will offer practical insights into influencing procurement processes to better reflect community priorities and the unique strengths of the VCSE sector.
