Our Why
Why do we fundraise? The Belfast Rotary Club is celebrating 100 years of service by continuing to give back to the community. Through a partnership with the City of Belfast and with community support, the Belfast Rotary Club is working to raise $225,000 to fund a new inclusive playground at Belfast City Park. The club has long supported the children of Waldo County with scholarships, projects around the holidays, food donations, and providing warm clothes, boots, books, and toys to families.
The new playground will offer a safe and welcoming space for children of all abilities to play, learn, and grow together. The playground is designed to accommodate children with diverse needs, ensuring that everyone—regardless of physical or developmental challenges—can enjoy the benefits of outdoor play. By fostering social interaction and cooperation, an inclusive playground not only enriches the lives of children but also strengthens our community bonds.
