Title: Evaluating, Diagnosing, & Treating ADHD (For Social Workers, Counselors, & Other Psychotherapists)
Course Summary:
This training equips master's-level clinical social workers with the knowledge and skills to assess, diagnose, and treat ADHD. Participants will review the scope of social work practice related to ADHD evaluation, explore evidence-based treatment strategies, and learn principles of neurodiversity-affirming care. The course will also cover how social workers can advocate for accommodations and support systems to empower individuals with ADHD across various settings.
Objectives:
Identify and explain the diagnostic criteria for ADHD using current clinical guidelines.
Describe the scope of practice for master’s-level social workers in evaluating and diagnosing ADHD.
Demonstrate ways to advocate for ADHD-related accommodations in educational and workplace settings.
Apply neurodiversity-affirming principles to social work practice with individuals diagnosed with ADHD.
