Ethics and Technology Practitioner Fellows Project Showcase

Join us for a thought-provoking evening showcasing groundbreaking projects developed by our Non-resident Practitioner Fellows in Ethics and Technology. These visionary leaders have dedicated the past year to exploring and addressing critical issues at the intersection of technology and ethics through inquiry, stakeholder engagement, and tool building in areas ranging from community surveillance, to content moderation, to AI impacts in the art world.

We welcome everyone with a vested interest in the future of technology, including those in civil society, policymaking, industry, and academia to come join the discussion of how we exercise leadership toward impacting the technology space, with sober recognition of the barriers and complexities that work against change.

• JP Gomes: Public AI Red Teaming Playbook: to democratize AI red teaming by developing a practical playbook that empowers civil society orgs in Brazil
• Lalitha Jonnalagadda: Building impact-driven products ethically: A guide to balancing ethics and speed: To equip product teams with the tools, resources, and coaching needed to embed ethical and social considerations into their workflows.
• Sabrina Lin: Drawing the Line: A Collective Toolkit for Emerging Artists Navigating the Age of GenAI: To co-create an educational toolkit that directly addresses the concerns raised by creatives on AI.
• Katherine Ortiz: Re-Imagining Consent in Technology: to kick-start a dialogue on technology consent frameworks based on human values and expectations rather than on non-negotiable informational terms.
• Omar Solis: AI Surveillance Transparency Project: to empower the most affected communities with knowledge on surveillance.
• Michael Swenson: Architects of Belonging: to foster a dedicated community of practice in Community Content Moderation
• Valeria Tafoya: AI Ethics Apprenticeship Program: To address the ethical challenges of AI adoption for workforce populations in Guanajuato State, Mexico.
