Overview
Ethical Foundations for Inclusive Practice with LGBTQ+ Clients
(1 Ethics CEU)
The goal of this training is to deepen understanding of LGBTQIA+ identities and experiences, strengthen ethical decision-making, and foster inclusive environments rooted in dignity and respect. Participants will reflect on their own values and biases, gain tools to navigate ethical dilemmas, and build the skills needed to practice active allyship and advocacy for equity and justice. This is an introductory education of aspects of the LGBTQIA+ community and current ethical and social dilemmas.
This training provides a space to explore how ethics, equity, and inclusion come together in supporting LGBTQIA+ communities. Participants will engage in conversations and reflection that highlight both the challenges and opportunities in creating fair and respectful environments.
The training will cover key topics such as respectful language, identity-affirming practices, and ethical decision-making when navigating bias or discrimination. Participants will also reflect on their own values and explore how to strengthen their role as allies, advocates, and ethical leaders in their workplaces and communities.
By the end, participants will leave with greater confidence, clarity, and practical tools to act with integrity and contribute to safe, inclusive, and affirming spaces for LGBTQIA+ individuals.
