This workshop lays the foundation for the other other Social & Emotional Learning workshops offered by APOST.
In this introductory workshop, attendees will explore a framework that is focused on harnessing Social and Emotional Learning efforts on change in practice. Workshop activities will engage participants in examining SEL efforts in the context of both the out-of-school time field’s commitment to Positive Youth Development and the research, resources, and supports driving adoption of SEL practices in staff practices, program management, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
You'll leave this workshop having identified ways to have a greater impact on SEL development of young people, wherever you work with them!

Registration Details
This workshop is limited to 15 participants. Registration for this workshop closes two days before the workshop or when it is full.
Because of the interactive nature of this workshop, in the event of low registration it may be cancelled. Advance notice will be provided.
We will have a waiting list that we'll use to both fill spots that open up and also help plan our future workshop topic schedule.
Each participant will be provided with an Essentials of an SEL Framework guidebook to use during the training and keep. They will also receive a certificate of completion via email after the workshop.

This workshop will take place at CoLab18, inside Nova Place at 100 South Commons, Pittsburgh, PA 15212 (on the Northside).
There is an entrance to the Nova Place Concourse at the corner of South Commons and Federal Street, across from the Post Office. There is an accessible ramp at this entrance.
If you come by car and park in the garage, there are elevators in the garage.

Note: APOST plans to provide parking garage vouchers to attendees for free parking. Parking is available in the Nova Place building garage and rates range from $6.00 – $12.00 depending on the duration of your stay. Enter through Gate 3 or 4. Metered street parking is available outside the building.
We are centrally located on the main floor of Nova Place (the old Allegheny Center Mall). From the parking garage, take the Central elevator to the (P) Plaza level across from the guard’s desk. CoLab18 is the first door on the left after you exit the elevator.
There is an entrance to the Nova Place Concourse at the corner of South Commons and Federal Street, across from the Post Office. When you enter you'll see the guard’s desk and the elevator. CoLab18 is the first door on the left if you are facing the guard desk.
