In this comprehensive two-hour woodworking class, you will significantly enhance your knowledge and practical skills in using hand tools. The session will cover a wide array of essential topics, including:

- Chisels and Planes: Proper selection, use, and maintenance of these fundamental cutting tools.
- Saws: An in-depth look at various types, including backsaws, panel saws, dovetail saws, and pull saws, with instruction on their specific applications.
- Marking Tools: Techniques for accurate measurement and marking to ensure precise joinery and cuts.
- Specialty Planes: Exploring the functions and uses of planes beyond the basic types.
- Scrapers: How to achieve smooth, finished surfaces using various scraping tools.
- Sharpening Options: Practical guidance on different methods for keeping your tools keen and effective.
You will depart this class with a deeper understanding and a newfound appreciation for the capabilities and versatility of traditional hand tools in woodworking. Frequently asked questions
This class requires the use of power tools, which requires the attendee to be 14 years or older. Attendees below 18 years must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or legal guardian throughout the entire class. If a parent or legal guardian is required to attend, only 1 ticket is required.
Safety glasses or face shields, hearing protection, gloves, and dust respirators will be provided free of charge as needed. No loose clothing should be worn, long sleeves should be rolled up, long hair should be tied back. No open-toed shoes can be worn during classes.
