Equine Behavior and Pain
Overview
Join us inside the stunning indoor arena at Holmside Hall Equestrian for a practical and insightful exploration of how pain and behaviour interact — hosted by Equiscense Horsemanship, with support from intake vets Sam Thompson and Poppy Izat.
This event is designed to help owners understand how discomfort can influence behaviour long before obvious lameness appears. Through clear demonstrations and straightforward explanations, you’ll learn:
- How to carry out a simple, step-by-step lameness work-up
- Subtle signs of pain that are often missed
- Ethical, welfare-focused training approaches that build confidence and trust
- What Equiscense look for during behavioural assessments, and how they approach behaviour cases safely and effectively
You’ll also have the chance to speak with Sam, Poppy, and the Equiscense team afterwards to ask questions.
Enjoy refreshments from the on-site café and take in the atmosphere of one of the North East’s best equestrian venues.
