Entrepreneurial skills provide the ability to envision new business opportunities and turn an idea into a reality. Whether or not starting a business is a job seeker's goal, the skills of problem-solving, decision-making, planning, persistence, and creativity will help job seekers prepare for workforce readiness, acquire critical real-world business skills, and grow their entrepreneurial mindset.

In this interactive two-part workshop, participants will learn how to facilitate activities that build entrepreneurial skills, while being guided by an expert Entrepreneurial Program Instructor on best practices and resources that your organization can use to provide a high-impact program. The training is designed to expose participants to the possibilities and benefits of providing an entrepreneurship program.

Participants will walk away with:

Best practices for teaching entrepreneurial skills and building an entrepreneurial mindset, in order to implement or enhance this component of their existing program offerings;
Understanding of the range of resources available to help expose job seekers to 21st-century entrepreneurship opportunities and role models; and
Strategies for implementing a successful virtual or in-person entrepreneurship program.

This training will take place virtually via Zoom meeting.

Target Audience: Employment Specialists, Internship Coordinators, Program Supervisors, and Directors

Advanced registration for this workshop is required. An insufficient number of registrants will result in the cancellation or rescheduling of this workshop. Registration is for the approved candidate only. Substitutions are not allowed without the approval of the TA Provider.

This training is only for staff from programs which DYCD contracts for any of its contracts/programs.

This professional development opportunity is provided at no cost to you but has a value of $210 per seat for DYCD. If you register for and are subsequently unable to attend this session, you are responsible for canceling your registration or risk being waitlisted for future events.

Registrations will be reviewed, and you will be sent a confirmation email within 24 to 72 hours of registration, plus a final reminder email the day before the training. Any registrations from individuals from programs that do not hold a DYCD program contract will be unable to participate in this training.
