Hi, this is Vanessa, your ENLIGHTENMENT host.

Spend your Friday evening with cold refreshments, live music, and a deep dive into information about pop culture’s most magnetic force.

After starting a business course at UC Berkeley titled "Artistry and Entrepreneurship: Taylor's Version", economist Crystal Haryanto now has written the first scholarly book about Taylor Swift from the perspective of a hardcore fan. Interweaving disciplines of business, policy, psychology and economics, The Glory of Giving Everything examines the star’s billionaire-level career through a lens that is both sharply analytical and poignantly human. It’s geared for entrepreneurs, marketers, influencers and fans alike who want to glean insights from one of the most iconic figures in both entertainment and business.

Join me for a conversation and guitar singalong with Crystal. Whether you're a lifelong Swiftie or new to her world, you can learn a lot, both personally and professionally, from this superstar that’s adaptable to your life. From songwriting craft, marketing savvy, and innovative decisions to hot takes, personal predictions and juicy stories—no topic is off the table!

We’ll have Crystal’s book available for her to sign and for you to purchase.

Organized by

We're a civic-engagement, community-focused organization putting together panels, interviews, discussions and events focused on cool people doing groundbreaking things and possibly causing earth-shattering change in California and beyond.

These are not your typical seminars held in Sheraton Ballroom C. Consider them "cocktail conversations." We host regular events in fun, lively spaces around Sacramento for California's innovators to talk about what they're doing. And there's always great beer, wine and libations on hand.

Come, listen, ask questions, mix and mingle with other interesting people, and get inspired to make your own change.
