Matcha 抹茶 — traditional Camellia sinensis green tea grown in the shade, steamed and dried (not rolled), then ground into a fine powder. Prepared with a chasen 茶筅 (bamboo whisk) and served in a chawan 茶碗 (tea bowl).

A lifelong tea enthusiast, LaMonte has presented and served tea in schools and venues across Indiana, at Sih Ye 四爺 teahouse in Taipei, Taiwan, and at Apothica Teas in Niles, MI. He has also shared his expertise with the Indiana Foreign Language Teachers Association. Having lived and worked in Japan for two years with Toyota トヨタ自動車, LaMonte brings deep cultural insight to every presentation.
