About this event

The Dallas Branch of the International Dyslexia Association, Decoding Dyslexia OK, & The Reading League OK will be presenting screenings of Hopeville across our region this October in honor of Dyslexia Awareness Month.


Hopeville: How to Win the Reading Wars is a powerful, nationally acclaimed documentary exposing America’s literacy crisis and urging schools to adopt evidence-based reading instruction. Through personal stories and research, the film raises awareness, corrects misinformation, and inspires action for change in education.


Who should attend?

  • Parents & Caregivers: Learn how to advocate for effective reading instruction.
  • Educators: Gain insight into proven practices that transform student outcomes.
  • Leaders & Policymakers: Explore how system-level change can ensure all children learn to read.
  • Advocacy Groups & Public: Join the movement to promote literacy equity nationwide.
