Title: Beyond Lift-and-Shift: Engineering the Path from Legacy to Cloud-Native Architecture

Abstract: Enterprise organizations face critical challenges when migrating legacy applications to cloud environments, with traditional lift-and-shift approaches failing to address fundamental architectural limitations or unlock the true benefits of cloud-native capabilities. These simplistic migrations often result in higher operational costs, continued technical debt, and inability to leverage modern development practices, essentially moving existing problems to a new location rather than solving them. This technical session addresses the engineering challenges of true architectural transformation, offering systematic approaches for incremental decomposition, state management during transition, and automated migration at scale that minimize business disruption while enabling organizations to break free from legacy constraints and fully embrace cloud-native architecture.
