About this event

Join us for an interactive workshop designed for middle school educators who are passionate about integrating engineering and computer science into their classrooms. Gain insights into integrating engineering and computational thinking to create cross-disciplinary learning experiences.

This workshop focuses on YES’s new middle school unit, Engineering Landing Pads, which challenges learners to design reusable landing pads to reduce packaging waste and protect drone-delivered items. Dive into real-world applications of engineering and kinetic energy transfer!

You will also experience one of the companion computer science modules using MATLAB, powered by MathWorks, Bounce Height Measurements. Students learn how a computer can be used to measure how high a ping-pong ball bounces on different landing pad materials. Students discuss how the computer algorithm and investigation procedure must work together to collect reliable data.

Special Offer for Massachusetts Public School Educators

Receive discounted registration and a FREE Engineering & Computer Science Materials Kit after the workshop.

Promo Code: MAPublicSchool
