About this event

UPDATE: The workshop is currently sold out, but click "Select A Time" then "Tickets" and then "Waitlist" to join the waitlist in case someone can’t make the event. We are considering offering an additional workshop session, based on interest as demonstrated by people joining the waitlist.

As a school leader during these times of rapid transition and change, you have undoubtedly been working alongside faculty and staff to help them navigate their new roles as distance educators. And yet, as a Folio school leader, you know that it’s not enough to provide emotional support and pedagogical guidance to teachers - that in order for real learning to occur, we also push teachers to pause, reflect, and make sense of the experience.

You might be wondering:

  • How can I make the case to teachers for taking time to reflect when their plates are already so full?
  • What sorts of questions should I ask that would encourage my teachers to reflect more holistically about the year? More narrowly about the past 8 weeks?
  • How can we use these reflection processes to help us emerge from this experience as more resilient and nimble educators?

We’ll work together to address these questions and more during this 90 minute small group workshop. Participants will:

  • Review adult learning principles to understand the elements of effective reflection practices and make the case for why reflection is vital for educators;
  • Brainstorm potential reflection practices in small groups;
  • Create and receive feedback on a draft framework for leading end-of-year reflection with your faculty and staff.

A few notes about registration:

  • This workshop is designed for Folio school leaders responsible for facilitating end of year conversations with faculty and staff.
  • This is an interactive workshop - be prepared to participate and learn together!
  • There is a small amount of pre work required (approx. 20-30 minutes).
  • Registration is limited to 8 Folio leaders; each registration gives you one link to the workshop.
