Did you know that in the United States, over 40 million people have an addiciton? That is 1 in 7 people. That's more than the people who have chronic diseases such as Cancer, Diabetes, and Heart Condition.

Addiction is a misunderstood disease that is frequently stigmatized in a way that other diseases are not. This course includes in-depth, science-based information about substance use disorders and addictions, treatment options, communication strategies, self-care tips, and more. Leading researchers and physicians in the addiction fielf, as well as, individuals in recovery and impacted family members also contributed to the developmetn of this training.

What you will learn: How addiction affects the brain; the signs and symptoms of addiction; how tostart the conversation; getting an assessment and treatment options; how to set healthy boundaries and how to access recovery support.

Who should attend:

Community Based-Service Providers, Law Enforcement & First Responders, Educators, Clergy, Employers, Families, Friends, and Caregivers.

The ADAMHS Board will award the CEUs/RCHs and put into CE Broker within 30 days following the training. Thank you for attending.
