Instructor - Hillary Dorsk
The art of glass on metal has been a passion of Hillary. She is fascinated by the vibrant colors and the magical quality of glass. In addition to her expertise in enameling, she has been a dedicated metalsmith for many years.
Class Description
This class is meant for those who would like to have an initial exploration of enameling while making beautiful bespoke buttons for that special garment or closure. It’s an opportunity for all artists (metals, fiber, or whoever) to have an introduction to the art of glass on metal. You will learn how to make easily replicated buttons and come out tool tested for your future use of the enameling kilns and supplies in our studio.
Material Fee
The materials fee for this class is $10. This is separate from the ticket price and is to reimburse the instructor for any tools or materials used in this class. This will be paid once, directly to the instructor at the start of the first class meeting. This instructor accepts payments in Cash only.
Class Goals
- Students will learn how to use the enameling kilns and supplies
- Learn how to use colorful enameling techniques to create bespoke buttons
Material Supplied
- Enameling supplies
Students Should Bring
- A mask
- Closed toe shoes
- Apron or workshirt (students will get dirty in the process)
- Any design ideas
Prerequisites
Students must me ages 18 +.
