About this event

In this workshop you will learn how to print highly detailed screen prints by utilizing halftones. While vinyl screen printing is great for quick prints, and less than 25 or so copies, emulsion can be used an infinite amount of times. It is great if you are wanting to print a large quanity of itrems and for higher detail that may be harder and more time consuming to do with vinyl screenprinting. We will be printing on paper together and going through the entirety of the process. Not sure what a Emulsion Screenprinting is? Check out our pinterest board to discover some of the things you can make with it!

Frequently asked questions

How long will this workshop last and what are we doing?

On average this workshop takes1.5 - 2 hours to teach. We will go over safety for handling emulsion, the software needed, how to print out your design on transparent sheet, coating the screens, exposing the screens, and finally printing using ink.

Do I have to bring my own materials?

No, we provide everything here for free! In return we ask that you be respectful of other patrons and clean up after yourself. If you are wanting to sell or create any products other than for personal use we do ask that you purchase your own inks (see below).

What do you mean I need to buy my own inks for not personal use, what about for friends?

Family and friends are fine! We have several students that use our equipment for their own small businesses. All bring their own ink and some that are using a lot of screens bring in their own emulsion. Free materials are meant for students to create, not for selling :)

Wait! What if I forget something after this workshop?

Don't worry! When attempting to print on your own don't be afraid to ask a staff member for guidance when you get stuck. We are here to help answer any questions, just let us know you've received your authorization but need some assistance.
