Empty Bowls 2021 supporting UMD presented by The Forest at Duke
Event Information
About this Event
Empty Bowls, the annual event benefitting Urban Ministries of Durham, is set for Thursday, March 4th and has been temporarily re-configured for a primarily virtual experience. Join over 1,000 members of our community—both local and far away—for this quintessential Durham event, now in its 15th year. If you’re in the RDU metro area, purchase tickets to pick up individual meal-size soups prepared by local award-winning chefs on event day. Enjoy your dinner while you watch a virtual show beginning at 6:30pm, including a behind-the-scenes look at our homeless shelter. Bowls and other decorative creations made by local potters and wood turners will be open for bids in a week-long Silent Auction (March 1st at 9am – March 5th at 5pm).
Empty Bowls, presented by The Forest at Duke for the 4th year in a row and co-sponsored by area businesses and individuals, helps to raise over $100,000 for the city’s primary public homeless shelter, which provides food, shelter, and a future to neighbors in need. And this year, your support goes the extra mile to bolster local restaurants who have been longtime supporters of UMD. Tickets on sale now!
Make sure you choose a restaurant with a pick-up time that fits your schedule. Soups will be chilled for re-heating at home.
