The timing of this event is inspired in part International Human Rights Day, the December anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. For 2025 the theme for the observance is "Our Everyday Essentials," highlighting the link between the concept of human rights and the every day experiences and lived realities of people as something that is positive, essential, and attainable.

Founded in 2025, the Organization for Resilience and Community Empowerment (ORCE) is a locally initiated, community-driven, board-lead non-profit organization providing holistic, context-sensitive support, and hope in communities affected by conflict, displacement, and systemic challenges. We believe that resilient communities are the cornerstone of lasting peace and recovery. Together, we are building a future where individuals not only survive, but thrive.
