What do I need to wear and bring?

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that you can move around in. Bring water and snacks.

Are we going to be throwing people to the ground? Will I get injured?

NO and NO! We teach a very adaptive, inclusive form of self-defense for every body. If you want to learn to throw people to the ground, this isn't the place for you. This is for you if you want to learn simple physical self-defense strikes that work for your body.

I have a bad knee / back / use a cane / use wheelchair, can I take this class?

YES! We specialize in offering empowering self-defense skills to everyone, no matter if they have physical limitations. We will find something that feels powerful in your body.

I have a history of trauma, will this class be safe for me?

We find self-defense to be incredibly healing for people with trauma. Our instructors are trauma survivors and trained in trauma-informed methodology. If you and your therapist think a self-defense class is a good next step for you, we can support you in your journey.

Can my under 18 child take this class?

Aged12 and over children are welcome if their parent or guardian PARTICIPATES in the class as well. No one is allowed to sit and watch, and we don't want you to drop your child off to get great safety skills alone. We create safer communities by all learning these skills.
