Empathizing w/the "Enemy" from Inside Out — 3/4 in the Mendful Intro Series
Overview
In these polarizing times, we can find ourselves in conversation with others whose views seem in radical opposition to our own. It might sometimes feel hard to see how we're even living on the same planet! In our desire to make things right, we often slip into this U.S. culture's default: Making others wrong.
Even if we're convinced someone else IS wrong, proceeding from this stance rarely transforms anything.
However, empathy can.
In this highly participatory 1-hr workshop, you'll learn and practice how to:
- Settle your nervous system and lay down new neural pathways for beginning transformational rather than polarizing conversations
- Cultivate curiosity about the "enemy" viewpoint
- Turn polarizing conversations online to more connective ones
- Play the "long game" of cultivating connection over time that allows for lasting change
- Keep a tried-and-true shortcut in your back pocket for any time you freeze up in the moment
This 1-hour workshop is part of the Mendful Conflict Resolution: The Heart of Repair series of four workshops. These workshops are offered throughout the year, and also recorded and made available on the Mendful.world website. See all events and recordings here: https://www.mendful.world/events

These modular 1-hr online workshops present an abbreviated version and preview of the full Mendful Core Training Immersion — see more here: https://www.mendful.world/mendful-immersion-training
The training can lead to certification as a Mendful Conflict Resolution Coach (MCRC). Once certified, MCRCs can work within the Mendful app, earning money providing conflict resolution sessions to Mendful customers.
Again, each online session is recorded, and the recordings will be made available to all registrants of that session, and on the Mendful website.
