OVERVIEW OF NETEC

The 2014 Ebola epidemic was the largest in history, affecting multiple countries in West Africa. The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) established the National Ebola Training and Education Center (NETEC) in July of 2015 to increase the competency of healthcare and public health workers and the capability of healthcare facilities to deliver safe, efficient, and effective patient care.

The National Ebola Training and Education Center is comprised of faculty and staff from Emory University, the University of Nebraska Medical Center/Nebraska Medicine and the New York Health + Hospitals Corporation, Bellevue Hospital Center. All three of these healthcare institutions have safely and successfully treated patients with Ebola and have worked diligently over the past two years to share their knowledge with other healthcare facilities and public health jurisdictions. The goal of the NETEC is to combine these resources into one comprehensive assessment, education and training tool for healthcare systems throughout the United States.

REGISTRATION

There is no tuition cost for this program. The New York Trainings are limited to 32 attendees. Registration will be rolling and attendees will be contacted via email to confirm their attendance.

Please do not make travel arrangements until your attendance has been confirmed by NETEC. Attendance confirmation will be emailed to registrants by a member of the NETEC once your Eventbrite registration is received.NETEC will not be responsible for any losses incurred by registrants, including but not limited to airfare cancellation or hotel deposits.

CONFERENCE LOCATION AND LODGING

There is no conference fee for this training . Working meals and light snacks during breaks are provided as indicated in the agenda. Travel expenses are not covered by NETEC and are the responsibility of the attendee and/or their sponsoring organization.

NETEC E-LEARNING CENTER and DEVICES

The training agenda and summary materials will be provided via Moodlerooms, the NETEC Learning Management System (LMS). Once your conference registration is confirmed, an LMS account will be created and you will receive your account login information via email. Attendees are encouraged to bring laptops and mobile devices to the conference to access the LMS for important course communications and collaboration.
