About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Emer Dunne is an acclaimed Irish folk singer, enchanting audiences with her vocal purity and rich storytelling ability. Releasing three No 1 hit singles and her no 1 charting folk album, ‘Hourglass’ with acclaimed producer Bill Shanley (Mary Black, Paul Brady, Gilbert O Sullivan), Emer has reviews from Hot Press, RTE Behind the Music and Irish music Magazine, traction on national and international radio and feature on Ireland’s RTE Television.

Word spread quickly as audiences flocked to witness Emer and her band on her successful headline theatre tours, performing as a trio in various corners of Ireland. Emer is joined by the accomplished guitarist, Eamonn Moran and virtuoso fiddler, Shane Meehan from Leitrim. With their heartfelt performances and their entertaining nature on stage, this dynamic trio have made shows a great success and allow for wonderful audience participation. Sure who doesn’t like to sing along! Alongside her own shows, Emer toured in 2023 with renowned folk legends, The Fureys, and was invited back again in 2024 where she graced the stages of Ireland’s most iconic venues including Dublin’s Vicar Street, Cork’s Opera House, The Royal Theatre Castlebar, Wexford Opera House and many more. Most recently Emer joined folk legends, The High Kings, in Australia.

Off stage, Emer finds joy in connecting with people and she draws inspiration from walks in Ireland’s rugged landscapes, seeking new melodies and tales in the countryside where she is now based. Emer can work with Irish, acoustic, classical and even modern styles. She caught the attention of Leonard Cohen’s management team as they reached out and cited her rendition of his famous song, ‘Hallelujah’ as one of their favourite versions of the song. Emer continues to weave her magic on and off the stage and she is leaving an indelible mark on the rich tapestry of Irish folk music and song.
