Join The Child Development Institute at Sarah Lawrence College for a full day of conversations and workshops focused on the importance of play in children's lives and the need for adults to create and sustain crucial play opprotunities for children in their homes, schools, and community spaces. Play in all these contexts is essential for supporting intellectual, social, and emotional well-being of children and adults. Together we will consider how to advocate for and embrace more time and space for play.
The day will begin with coffee and tea during check-in, followed by an opening conversation with CDI director Tricia Hanley and child psychology faculty member Cindy Parson Puccio.
We'll then break off into smaller sessions, each built around the topic of play. (Check out all of the small sessions options here!) We'll reconvene for a provided lunch, and break off again for another round of small sessions.
Finally, the day will end with a panel of SLC's Children, Childhood, and Education Collaborative members to discuss the topics and questions that came up during the conference.
