About this event

Join our 2-hour in-person workshop, "Embrace Spontaneity: Intro to Improv." It's a low-pressure, fun experience designed for newcomers. Connect with others through introductions, establish boundaries, and engage in energizing warmups, games, and collaborative scenes.

Get ready to embark on a low-pressure, fun-filled adventure that will unleash your creativity, boost your confidence, and ignite your sense of playfulness.

Led by our experienced and supportive instructors, this workshop is tailored to provide a safe and welcoming environment where you can step outside your comfort zone. We'll begin with a boundary check-in, where we establish guidelines for respect, trust, and collaboration. Then we'll dive into engaging improv warmups and games, designed to ignite your imagination, enhance your listening skills, and unlock your spontaneity.

Through interactive exercises and guided scenework, you'll discover the joy of working together, building on each other's ideas, and creating compelling scenes on the spot.

No prior experience in acting or improv is necessary. This workshop is specifically designed for individuals who are new to improv. Whether you're seeking a fun and unique experience, a chance to improve your communication skills, or simply a break from everyday routine, "Embrace Spontaneity" is the workshop for you!

About your instructors:

Millie Hoffman (she/her) has been taking improv classes and performing since 2018. She performs regularly with Babeprov, David Bowie Improv, and a variety of special projects. An elementary school teacher by day, she’s enthusiastic about bringing the joy of ‘play’ to all!

Brandin Bowden (he/him) “Brandin with an I” is a star on and off the improv stage! He performs with the local improv troupes Cakewalk and Scrapple in Baltimore and travels all over making people laugh. When he’s not making things up on stage, he teaches groups how to work better together through improv—connecting to make work fun! Brandin’s also into cooking up healthy food and snapping cool photos. He’s all about bringing creativity into everything he does!
