Embodied-somatic health experiences & visualization workshop
Overview
What will be doing: Somatic and dance lab workshopping the creation of movement phrases and visualizations via drawn/3D-renderings of body-felt sensations around self-selected memories/emotions. It will be an opportunity to inquire about emotional states and personal histories as well as speculative imagined avatars that can hold these experiences as well as their aesthetic qualities across space and time.
The workshop will be facilitated by artist, performer, and health advocate Justus Harris (he/they) who has worked with making the ephemeral aspects of chronic illness tangible and visible for the past ten years. Sophie Mars, a dance movement therapist, performer, and movement diretor will also be co-facilitating.
This workshop is not a therapy and although health and topics that may bring up intense emotions may come up, we ask for those attending to self-regulate and we will do our best to facilitate this in a way that supports this.
