The world is giving us innumerable reasons to be sorrowful, downtrodden, or outraged.
We need joy to fuel our inner resilience. It’s a courageous act to stare down challenges and adversities and say “I will not let you beat me down.”
I am inspired by my father to offer these workshops. At the core, his life was characterized by his ability to endure great hardship yet maintain a positive outlook.
In the final weeks of his 10 year journey with prostate cancer, I have a treasured memory of him sitting on the apartment porch, looking out on the city below, and singing Glen Campbell’s Rhinestone Cowboy with a smile on his face.
He was literally singing into the face of death itself. How badass is that?
Let’s take a page out of his book and bolster our spirits together.
