Event description

Description

Do you struggle with procrastination? Are you afraid of change? Do you have big dreams, but aren’t sure when or even how to pursue them? Three inspirational entrepreneurs have cleared their busy schedules and are ready to share how they handled those very questions. Come out Thursday, Feb. 22 from 6-8 p.m. at Columbia College, 33 E. Congress, 6th floor, suite 610H. Tickets are $10. Light refreshments and wine will be provided.

The panelists will open up about their personal stories of overcoming obstacles and blocking out naysayers. They’ll dig into how they knew it was time to branch off and pursue their dreams. They will share the balancing act of the dream and day job.

This event is meant to encourage and hopefully motivate attendees to not quit, and to keep planning and strategizing until they’re doing what they ultimately love.

He has successfully launched the groundbreaking social initiative, where he takes teenagers from underserved Chicago communities on citywide explorations.

Recognized for his contributions to the community, he is the recipient of many awards, such as a 2017 Outstanding Commitment to Community Service Award on behalf of Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs. He received a 2012 Certificate of Appreciation from former state Gov. Pat Quinn and was named the 2012 Chicago Ideas Award Winner, presented by Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

He was appointed honorary chair of the State of Black Chicago’s Steering Committee by the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court and named one of Huffington Post's “15 Inspiring Chicagoans.”
