This is an In-Person Training composed of 2 days on the following dates/times and location:
December 8, 2025 - December 9, 2025 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm Pacific Time at (LOCATION)
Course Description:
This specialized Motivational Interviewing (MI) training is designed for professionals working in crisis response, LEAD programs, and community-based systems. Building on concepts from basic MI, participants will deepen their ability to apply MI with individuals experiencing complex challenges such as co-occurring disorders, trauma, homelessness, and justice involvement.
Focused on real-world application, this training explores how MI enhances engagement, reduces resistance, and supports collaboration in high-stress situations. Through video examples, interactive discussions, and skill practice, participants will strengthen their ability to de-escalate crises, foster self-determination, and reduce burnout while helping others move toward safety, stability, and change.

An evaluation is included with your handouts for the course; please complete and return to IFIOC. Once the completed evaluation is returned a Certificate of Completion will be sent out via your registered email address within 5-7 business days
Requirements to receive Continuing Education Certificate link
This training is designed for social workers and behavioral health professionals. IFIOC #1485 is approved as a provider for work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org, through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. IFIOC maintains responsibility for the program. Social workers participating in this training will receive 10 continuing education clock hours. Professionals should contact their individual regulatory board to review current continuing education requirements for licensure renewal. ASWB Approval Period: 05/30/2024 to 05/30/2027.
