Description: Auditor, accountants, and other professionals are required to interview and elicit information from people as part of their jobs. First and foremost, an effective interviewer is an effective communicator. The interviewer needs to establish a climate of trust and helpfulness and build as much rapport with the interviewee as possible. This will help produce credible oral evidence that will achieve the objectives of the interview. This is done by thoughtful planning, attentive listening, skillful use of questioning and paraphrasing, and managing the interpersonal dynamics that occur in an interview. This course provides the effective techniques needed to conduct interview by focusing on an often-overlooked part of interviewing – effective communication. The course concentrates on the basic element to finding the truth.
