Effective Approaches to Resource Connection and Navigation
Overview
Training Description: Many of the successes I have had in my career serving people experiencing homelessness has been highly dependent on the quality of resources and supports I have been able to bring to bear to support them in their journey out of homelessness. I hope to be able to share some of the strategies and knowledge I have gained working in and navigating vast and complex human services systems with the Walk-In Counseling team in ways that will support counselors working with clients seeking services beyond those that Walk-In Counseling can provide.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will learn about:
1.The State-County structure of human service programs and resources.
2.Understand strategies for connecting clients to resources in their area.
3.Develop a baseline understanding of some commonly sought after resources and providers in Hennepin, Ramsey, and Dakota Counties.
