Eelips (Ellipse) Launch Event

We are delighted to invite you to the launch event for Bryan Kneale MBE's new public sculpture Eelips (Ellipse), to be unveiled at Tynwald National Park and Arboretum on Saturday 25th October 2025.

Following the unveiling, we are excited to be joined by eminent speakers on landscape, culture and sculpture, who will provide insights into Bryan's practice and the importance of public artwork on the Isle of Man and across the UK.

Day Plan

The day will be begin at St John's Methodist Hall at 10am, before walking to Twywald National Park to unveil and view the sculpture.

We will then return to St John's Methodist Hall to hear David Mach RA in conversation with Sam Phillips, followed by a catered lunch.

This will be followed by a conversation between Steven Gregory, Nicola Hicks MBE, and Dr Alexandra Hodby, chaired by Sam Phillips.

The day will end with further conversation and refreshments at Twnwald Hill Inn, a short walk away.

This event previously listed Sir Christopher Frayling as a speaker. Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, he is no longer able to attend.

Tickets

This is a free event. Please select tickets to indicate which parts of the day you would like to attend to help us manage numbers and arrange catering. You are welcome to join us for the whole day, the unveiling only or for selected individual talks.

Access Information

The nearest parking is Tynwald National Park & Arboretum car park on the opposite side of the road. It is free and has disabled parking bays and EV charging. There is limited free on street parking opposite the Hall and also 2 disabled parking bays near the hall (same side of road).

St John's Methodist Hall is step free. Seating and catering for all dietry requirements will be provided. Microphones will be in use by our speakers.

The unveiling of the sculpture takes place outdoors in the Park. The walk to the location will take approximately 15 minutes. Please dress appropriately for the weather, and be aware that the ground underfoot may be muddy if has recently rained. The location of the sculpture is on a small incline.
