About this event

  • Event lasts 2 days 7 hours

Attention educators! Are you planning to bring your students to Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center (CVEEC) for overnight programming in fall 2025 or spring 2026? Are you a returning educator looking to try out some new curriculum? If so, we have an exclusive opportunity for you to experience firsthand what your students will enjoy.

Join us on campus to meet fellow educators, share ideas for engaging students in outdoor learning and environmental education, and prepare for your upcoming visit. You'll participate in the same program as your students, including field trips, hands-on activities, dorm stays, and making s'mores around the campfire. This workshop will help you create a personalized and enriching experience for your students.

Cost: $100 per educator

Educators who register their students for an overnight program are eligible for a 20% discount with the promo code Educator20.

Where will we be staying during this workshop?

In the Lipscomb Dormitory on campus, which has several rooms of bunk beds and individual and shared bathroom spaces.

Do I have to stay in the dorms?

You do not, but this a big part of the student experience so we would like for you to experience it as well. Additionally, programming will go until 8:30/9:00pm each evening.

Is food provided?

Yes, meals will be catered for us. Once you register, a form will be sent to you to gather dietary restriction information for catering order purposes.

What should I pack?

A detailed packing list will be sent to all confirmed attendees closer to the event. This experience will include hiking so outdoor gear will be required (rain jacket, hiking shoes, hat, sunglasses, daypack, bug repellent, sunscreen).

How are the classes differentiated?

You will be participating in the learning stream that your students are registered for, which would be one of the following: Expeditions Earth, Habitat Heroes, Nature Exploration, or Water Guardians. Educators curious about a different program for their students to participate in can opt in also.
