Friday 11:30AM (doors open at 11:15AM)-food service begins at 11:30AM in the Community Room at Allegra Westbrooks Regional Library-Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte.
Aside from a free, flavorful and health promoting 100% whole food, plant-based (WFPB) vegan lunch, our physician, pediatrician, David Bowman, MD will both present and answer questions regarding the prevention and arrest of lifestyle driven chronic illnesses, generational health poverty, childhood obesity and the impact of a whole food, plant-based lifestyle on optimal wellness equity.
ABOUT DAVID BOWMAN, MD
A dynamic lifestyle medicine physician and pediatrician, Dr. Bowman brings a rare blend of clinical excellence, global health experience and transformative leadership. A proud Howard and Indiana Univerity alumnus, Dr. Bowman completed his residency in pediatrics at Children’s National in DC and worked internationally in Botswana, Uganda, Nigeria and Haiti before returning to Howard University (HU) as faculty in 2017.
Dr. Bowman now serves as Director of the Center for Spiritual Health and Wellness and Assistant Dean of Student Health and Wellness at HU College of Medicine.
After reversing his own chronic illness, he launched Lifestyle Med Revolution and now co-chairs the Health Equity Achieved by Lifestyle (HEAL) Initiative with ACLM.
As one of the first five Black ACLM Fellows, Dr. Bowman speaks nationally on the power of faith, food, and evidence-based lifestyle medicine to reclaim health and dismantle disparities.
