Join Dana and Karen for a three-part Ecstatic Dance journey through the body’s lower three chakras—Root, Sacral, and Solar Plexus—held once a month in June, July, and August. Each gathering is a grounding, embodied movement experience designed to awaken, balance, and empower your foundation, creativity, and inner fire. Through presence, rhythm, and community connection, we’ll move with intention to root deeply, flow freely, and rise in our personal power. No dance experience needed—just bring your body, your loving awareness, and your curiosity.

Ecstatic Dance Agreements & Rules:
-No drugs or alcohol, this is a sober event.
-No shoes on the dance floor.
-No cell phones or conversation on the dance floor.
-No photos without consent.
-Honor the boundaries of yourself, one another, and of the space itself.

If someone approaches you to dance and you would prefer to keep your energy inward, you can share prayer hands and a bow, signifying "no thank you."

Nothing opens the heart faster than music and dance. Music taps into frequencies that vibrate the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual layers of our being. Vibrating these layers allows us to keep our channel clear and flowing so that we can meet the world and one another in the present moment without the baggage of our past or future.

Breath, sound, and movement are encouraged. The dance floor has seen it all. All of you is welcome. All is offered up to be healed and celebrated. We look forward to meeting you on the dance floor!

Frequently asked questions

If I buy individual event tickets, can I still come to the Zoom Calls?

All Zoom Calls are reserved for those who purchase The Summer Series Cohort Ticket. If you would like to gain access to additional benefits, please purchase The Summer Series Cohort Ticket.

What happens if I buy The Sumer Series Cohort Ticket and cannot attend all of the events?

If you miss the Introductory Zoom Call, it will be recorded & shared with community. If you know ahead of time that you are going to miss an ecstatic dance event, we will allow you to "pay it forward" to someone else as long as you notify us ahead of time. Integration calls will not be recorded.

Can I bring my children to these events?

All events are 18+.

Is the venue accessible?

Yes, it is. You can contact us for more specific directions on where to park for access. Venue has 2 accessible bathrooms as well.

I have food allergies, will there be food that I can consume safely?

We invite community to bring potluck options. We have no control over what guests choose to bring. We suggest you bring your own personal snacks and beverages for you to consume safely.

Do I need dance experience to join?

Nope! All bodies, backgrounds, and levels of experience are welcome. This is about movement, not performance. Just bring your presence and curiosity.

Do I have to dance the whole time?

Not at all! This is a presence practice. It's about honoring your body, its limitations & what it needs. We will have a meditation nook, altar, creativity table, and lots of seating. Feel free to bring cozy items if you know you will want to lay on the floor.

Can I join the Cohort if I miss the first dance?

We encourage full participation, but if you’d like to join late, contact the organizers to discuss payment options.

Where is the event located exactly?

We’re dancing at The Reading Room (134 Elm Street, Cheshire, CT 06410), located upstairs in the Watch Factory Shoppes Plaza. The plaza is located across the street from Cheshire Academy. If you park on the lower level, walk by Re-Read Books & More store (on your left). Walk up big staircase.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you feel great in & can move in! Each dance includes a color theme aligned with the chakra we’re exploring—red (Root), orange (Sacral), yellow (Solar Plexus). This is optional. Costumes & accessories are welcome. Most people get hot & sweaty. Layers recommended.

What should I bring?

A water bottle is a must, snack to share for the potluck (optional but encouraged), journal if you'd like to ground or reflect afterward, and a curious heart.

Is this a sober event?

Yes, this is a sober event. Ecstatic Dance is a drug- and alcohol-free container. Please arrive clear and present.

What if I feel self-conscious or emotional during the dance?

Feeling self-conscious is more common than you think. This is completely normal . All of you is welcome. Movement is medicine—tears, stillness, laughter, and big energy all have a place here. Feel free to step out and breathe if needed or ask for what you need.

How do I buy a ticket?

All tickets are sold through Eventbrite. We are covering the fees for you. If you need an alternative payment method, please contact the organizers at least one week before the event.

Will the dances be recorded?

No. To honor the privacy and sacredness of the space, there will be no recordings of the live dances.

What is your refund policy?

We will give you a full refund on your ticket up until 7 days prior to the beginning of the event. If it's within 7 days, we cannot offer you a refund, but we can "pay it forward." Please let us know ahead of time if you cannot make the event so we can plan accordingly.

Dana and Karen have been close friends and collaborators in transformational work since 2019. Karen is a Transpersonal Educator, Oracle, Spiritual Guide, and Reiki Master, while Dana is a Life Coach, Author, Artist, and Yoga Teacher. Together, they recently co-hosted Voyage into Presence, a transformative three-day retreat designed to foster deep connection and personal growth.

Ecstatic Dance Cheshire Connecticut offers a vibrant, inclusive space for free-form movement, self-expression, and community connection. These events welcome dancers of all backgrounds and experience levels.

Each evening begins with an opening circle to set intentions and foster connection. Participants are then invited to dance freely to an eclectic mix of music, ranging from enchanting melodies to vibrant beats, all designed to inspire spontaneous movement. The event concludes with a closing circle, providing an opportunity to share experiences and reinforce the sense of community. 

The dance floor is a sober, device-free, and non-verbal environment, emphasizing respect for personal space and the joy of being fully present. Participants are encouraged to dance barefoot or in socks to connect more fully with the ground.
