Ecstatic Dance Journey: Soul Dreaming

By Suzette Winona Summers / Suzy Hawkfire

Overview

Ceremony, community, journeying, and movement combine in this sacred time woven to align your body, mind, and soul. No experience necessary

Our world is in a time of collapse–-both seasonally, and globally--The soul of the world is calling to us. At this time of darkening days, both literally and figuratively, it is a moment ripe for diving deep, getting quiet, listening...and dreaming in a new way.

In this two hour event, Soul Dreaming Ecstatic Dance Journey, we will weave sacred ceremonial space, drop into our bodies, open our hearts, and allow the music to carry us into a dream-like state, a journey state, a liminal state of surrender where visions are accessable, emotions are expressable, and our bodies are free to explore movements--be it grief, playfulness, anger, joy, frustration, bliss, or any other expression. When we are free to explore and express any and all of our truths, that is when we experience the ecstatic moment of freedom and lightness.

In our time together in community, we will: paint our faces (optional), weave sacred space, set intentions, explore a movement lexicon, embark on an ecstatic dance journey through curated music intended to lead you into a state of expansive exploration and freedom. As we land back, we will honor each other through connection, and gently close our circle.

This is a sacred and sober place. Please refrain from using substances before arriving, and I ask that there is no talking or phone usage during the dance (in order to maintain a space centered on exploration and presence.)

Ecstatic Dance is a beautiful way to:

*tone your nervous system

*process life events/thoughts/emotions

*explore your body/mind/thoughts/emotions beyond the constructs of "everyday consciousness"

*free your spirit

*return to your natural state of openness

*connect deeper with others/community

We will flow through opening ceremony (face painting optional), movement lexicon, dance journey, connection, closing ceremony.

*Wear comfortable clothes, and bring a water bottle.
