EcoWalk: Unique Preserves - T. Mabry Carlton, Jr. Memorial Reserve

Join us to learn more about our amazing and unique Florida ecosystems. Take a leisurely stroll through some of our most beautiful and environmentally sensitive lands that have been preserved in Sarasota County and learn more about what makes these areas so unique and important, the plants and animals that inhabit them, how to be watershed wise, and the management issues faced when trying to preserve these lands for future generations.

For parking: Turn into public use area, turn right into parking (do not continue forward to equestrian parking). Meet at the kiosk by the trail in the main public use parking lot. Restrooms are available down that trail.

Most appropriate for ages 12 and up.

*****Trail Accessibility Information:

Trail surface/conditions: Depending on weather conditions before the hike, some areas of the trail may be wet. Much of the trail is in full sun, so hats and water are recommended, as well as hiking shoes and long pants.

Potential obstacles/barriers/hazards: Feral hog activity, if present, may make some parts of the trail rougher and more even.
